Chandeliers on a budget
Chandeliers can add a touch of style to a foyer, a dining room or a high-ceiling room. If you think they cost thousands of dollars, you’re thinking of the ones made out of very expensive materials, like crystal. It’s actually not that hard to find elegant, attractive chandeliers for less than $100. Here are some examples:
The 2-light Trinity Chandelier in Antique Bronze has a romantic Old World feel, as if you might have seen it in a country pub two centuries ago with real candles. It’s as warm and homey as it is classy. The price (as of the time of this writing) is $73.80.
The Orleans Chandelier is my favorite, and quite a bargain at $71.45. It’s simple enough to blend in with almost any decor style, but bold enough to get your attention. It looks like an antebellum heirloom from the Deep South.
The Transitional George Kovacs Pendant Chandelier is mode modern looking – very sleek, simple and brushed nickel. Acid-etched glass softens the glare of the light. It uses a halogen bulb, which should save you money on electricity, too.
When you consider that track lighting can cost well over $100, a chandelier at these prices is a great alternative. It’ll give you lots of light while making a bold personal statement in your home.
