Good-looking TV stands for under $50
It’s always been possible to get a manufactured wood assemble-yourself TV stand for $50 or less – that’s pretty frugal, but in my experience the veneers tend to curl up at the corners after getting bumped a few times, and the whole thing never looks great with the rest of your furniture.
For $95, you can instead get a Flatscreen TV Stand in Black Glass. The black and polished metal style coordinates with your TV rather than the rest of your room, which actually makes it blend in nicely instead of looking like a misfit that didn’t go with your bedroom set or your living room furniture. This one is designed to hold flat screen sets up to 36″, with shelves for at least two media machines (DVD player, DVR, game console, VCR, etc.), and its materials should be considerably more durable than a cheaper manufactured wood unit.
