Kitchen island with pantry and garbage bin

If you need additional storage space in a kitchen that’s too small to comfortably hold a nice big kitchen island, a small kitchen cart could be the answer. It’s amazing how well some of these make use of your space.

Check out this kitchen cart with a garbage bin included for an example. It has three wicker drawers for storing all sorts of items handily. The other side has a tilt-out garbage bin. The top can be used as a chopping or cutting surface, making the whole contraption a great little station for storing fruit and vegetables, chopping them and then disposing of the leftover bits.

It’s also light-weight enough to move around easily, but I would recommend installing some furniture slides to the bottom, especially if you’d like to be able to scoot it around to various places in the kitchen every time you cook.
