Clever storage solution: ottomans
One easy way to create more storage without taking up more space is with storage ottomans. These come in a wide variety of styles and price ranges. You can easily spend over $1000 on one, but you can also spend way under $100. As with most types of furniture, it’s possible to find inexpensive pieces that look awesome, so you needn’t break the bank.
Storage ottomans are good for storing:
- Stuff you don’t get in and out often – seasonal clothing, mementos, etc.
- Stuff you use all the time – crafting supplies you work with while watching TV, magazines or books, blankets you use when it’s cold, board games, extra TV remotes and manuals, sprayers for misting your plants, etc.
Which type of stuff you’ll be storing can depend which type of storage ottoman you should get. Most of them have a cushioned hinged top which opens easily with a deep storage compartment inside. If you’re going to be opening it often, be sure the lid isn’t too heavy. Some have drawers that slide out, which might be even easier if you want quick access to the items you store in your ottoman.
